Bob Perfect
Bob Perfect is an open book in a glass case of emotion as much as he tries to be a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, in an enigma. With over a decade of telling jokes under his belt, Bob has cemented his place in the South African comedy scene with his pop-culture-fueled misanthropic takes on modern life.
Bob is a regular on stages across the country, performing at SA’s top clubs and dingiest dive bars. He’s in Joburg almost as often as Durban, and has brought his wit and awkward charm to Bioscope Sundays, Kitcheners, The Box, Melville Comedy Club, and Jolly’s Comedy Nights. In Cape Town, he’s most at home at The Armchair Theatre and The Comedy House at Trenchtown, and has recently had fun performing for the first time at Comedy on Kloof, Beerhouse Comedy Club, and Bokeh Creative Studio’s Comedy Sundays with Kate Pinchuck.
In Durban, Bob has been integral to the comedy scene as the founder of Underground Comedy at The Winston (RIP) and the Heat City Comedy Festival. At this point, he’s performed pretty much everywhere with pretty much everyone.
Bob is a recovering music critic (Noisey, Hypebeast, Bubblegum Club, Red Bull) and is incredibly comfortable on music festival stages. He’s performed at Oppikoppi, Splashy Fen, Mieliepop, Outland, and a variety of day fests around KZN. He’s also performed at the Muizenberg Arts Festival in Cape Town and the Point Waterfront Arts Festival in Durban. Bob also MC’d the 2023 edition of Ales for Tales.
As an award-winning podcaster (The Almost Perfect Podcast), ex-DYR radio presenter, and frequent speaker at creative conferences across the country, Bob is well-versed in public speaking and can bring a unique and well-considered view to events focused on youth culture, music, the creative industry, self-publishing, and online media.
Bob has also been in more music videos than he can remember, has featured in adverts for Lee Jeans and Canon, and wrote and acted in the 2022 Durban 48 Hour Film Project’s winner of Best Film, Best Actress, and Audience Choice, The Sound of Murder.
